Ubisoft is always churning out games. However, very rarely will they put one of their titles out for free. The latest entry in the Trackmania series focuses on allowing players to create to their heart’s content. Ubisoft knows this, and has brought Trackmania to home consoles entirely for free. There’s no catch here — just a new free game. Here are the details.
Ubisoft Makes Trackmania Free to Play
Posted on Ubisoft’s Official Twitter, the company has announced announced that Trackmania will be free to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and Amazon Luna.

Trackmania puts players in the driver’s seat for a wild ride as the title takes arcade racing to a whole new level. Players can race against other cars, or speed against ghosts in levels that curve, twist, wind, and loop-de-loop. However, the title is more than just face races that push physics to the limit.
Trackmania also includes a track editor mode, which will allow players to build whatever their heart desires. This has gotten a small following online, with players building tracks that knock cars around, spiraling them into spins and tricks, only to land without ever having to touch the steering wheel. These satisfying tracks are only a fraction of what this game is all about. Now that the barrier to entry is non-existent, anyone can join in on the fun.
While there’s no definitive reasoning behind making Trackmania a free-to-play title, it is a live service game. Like other titles, including Warzone and Fortnite, it would make sense that Trackmania would join the ranks of free-to-play. How Ubisoft aims to monetize the game is yet to be seen.
As of now, the game is available on consoles for free, including previous generations. As well as Amazon Luna, the company’s cloud gaming service, which was a competitor to the former Google Stadia.
Regardless, fans of arcade racing games will be remiss if they don’t at least check out Ubisoft’s latest offering in the adrenaline-pumping racing title. The game is as fun as players can make it, as Trackmania aims to push creativity to its limits, for free.
