The world of Grounded takes ordinary objects and scales them up to massive sizes. Since your character is the size of an ant, pails turn into huge castles, and tabletop RPGs become actual dungeons for you to explore. One of these dungeons is hidden on top of the picnic table out in the yard. It houses a few interesting rewards, but there’s a catch: You have to figure out how to get up there first. Here’s what you need to do.

How to Get On the Picnic Table in Grounded

The Picnic Table has two levels: the lower bench seats and the upper tabletop. To get on the picnic table itself, you need to use the nearby shovel to reach the bench. Once you’re on the bench, you can access the upper tabletop by using the cooler.

Here’s what you need to get started. First, head over to the Leaning Shovel landmark near the Picnic Table. When you arrive, look for the cracked rock holding the shovel upright. You need to destroy the rock using a Bratbomb. This will free the shovel, causing it to fall onto the bench seat. From here, you can run up the shovel and onto the picnic table. You’re going to encounter a large number of bees, but you can avoid them by simply walking around.

Starting from where the shovel landed, make your way to the opposite end of the table. At the other end of the bench, you should spot a spork that will allow you to step onto the crossbeam and walk to the other side. Climb up onto the other bench and you traverse a few books to make it to a cooler.

At this point you need a Level 2 hammer. If you don’t have one yet, you won’t be able to reach the tabletop. If you do, then you’re all set. Use the hammer to smash the button on the side of the cooler. The button will drop the handle, allowing you to use it as a ramp to reach the top of the table.

If you’re earlier in the game and don’t have the materials to make bombs and hammers, you’re not out of luck. You can still get to the top, you just have to get creative. Try to harvest weeds and build a staircase to the top of the table instead.

As for what’s at the top of the picnic table, there is another dungeon for you to explore. Completing it gives you access to a chip which includes the recipe for the Mint Mace.
